Marketing

News cards and discount codes in the widget — and why the chatbot hands both out on its own.

Two things on one page

Under Settings → Marketing you manage what the widget shows in the way of offers: news cards on the start surface and discount codes. You edit on the left and see it immediately in a real preview on the right.

First things first: whatever stands here is binding for the AI. The chatbot will name a stored discount code on its own when asked. So an expired code you leave in place keeps being handed out.

News cards

A card has a headline, a description, a button label and optionally an image (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 5 MB). Click a card in the preview to edit it.

Visible only in Modern and Modern Dark. The other widget designs have no start surface for cards. If the switch is on and you still see nothing, that is almost always why — you change the design under Design.

The bot reads the first eight cards. Anything beyond that still shows in the widget but does not reach its answers.

Discount codes

One code and its value per entry, plus a short description whenever conditions apply ("from €50 order value"). That description is exactly what the bot passes on; without it, it names the code with no condition attached — and then you are held to it.

Up to 40 codes can be stored; the bot knows the first twelve.

Cart abandonment

For each code you can set whether it appears in the abandonment notification. That is the moment where a discount does the most work — and the only one where the widget offers it on its own instead of waiting to be asked.

What does not belong here

Standing statements about shipping, returns or prices belong in your knowledge base, not on a news card. Cards are for what is time-limited; the knowledge base is for what holds.
